1. Does the system have treatment for diabetes?

The Flower Essences do not treat the physical symptoms directly. The frequencies of the Flowers bring awareness that encourages internal emotional harmony. The defense forces of the body are re-juvinated in a state of harmony and the body literally heals itself.

2. How do you take the Essences?

The Essences come in liquid form and are preserved in brandy. Take two drops of the required remedy in a 30 ml dropper bottle and top it up with spring water. Take four drops from this mixture, at least four times a day.

Alternatively add two drops of the required essence to a glass of water and sip as required. Depending upon the intensity of the symptoms, the essences may be taken every few minutes. They do not have any harmful effects.

When there is loss of consciousness; the essences may be rubbed onto the lips, or temples or pulse points on the wrists.

You may even dip the affected part in a bowl of water containing four drops of the required essence. The unbearable pain from a broken bone in the toe was once magically relieved by dipping the foot in a bowl containing four drops of Rescue Remedy. You may use up to seven essences at a time.

3. Can we take more than seven essences at a time?

Dr Bach is known to have given nine essences at a time in at least two cases. But he was treating thousands of patients and practiced for many years.

Three or four Essences should suffice at one time in most cases. If you feel you have a list of thirteen or fourteen Remedies, then you need to choose the Remedies required at that particular time and ignore for the moment, the Remedies which were needed in the past. The healing is a gradual process and the deeper states reveal themselves like the peals of an onion. The case may be re-assessed every three weeks.

Up to seven Essences is the guiding thumb-rule. But if you feel you need eight or nine Essences, go ahead and take them. They will not have any harmful effects.

4. Do the remedies work faster if you do not dilute them?

The healing occurs at the energy level and not at the substance level. If you take four drops from the stock bottle; the brandy might feel stronger but the healing effect is just the same as that of four drops from the treatment bottle.

5. Do the Bach Remedies interfere with the effect of other kinds of medicine?

The active ingredient in the essence is the energy from the plant and not the physical substance. Therefore it will not interfere with the action of the substance in other medicines, and nor will other medicines interfere with the action of the Bach Remedies. The only point of caution is the alcohol content in the Bach Essence; which although in very minute quantities; might react with a particular medicine. The advising physician must be consulted in such a case.

6. How soon can we see the effect of the Bach Remedies?

The Rescue Remedy is used for emergency situations and is known to show immediate effects. The effect of other Remedies varies from case to case. I have seen the jealousy of an elder child on the birth of a younger child; melt away in twenty four hours and it might take months for a person to learn to deal with his fears.

7. Will an inappropriate choice of Remedy, have any harmful effects?

The Remedy acts like a a catalyst, the body's own healing forces come into play as a result of its actions. The inappropriate Essence has no effect on the patient.

8. Can the Bach Remedies cause rashes sometimes?

The action of the Essences involves flooding out of the trapped negative emotions. Sometimes the action is so fast that the whole body gets involved with throwing the toxins out. This action may be seen as a temporary rash on the skin. It is an action of the defense forces of the body and subsides as soon as harmony is established.

9. Can the Rescue Cream be used directly on eczema?

There is no harm if it suits the skin. But sometimes no cream suits the eczema on the skin. In that case you may wash the eczema with water containing four drops of your personal mixture.

10. Can the Bach Remedies be taken with juice, tea or coffee?

They can be taken with cold or hot drinks. The hot drinks evaporate the alcohol and are recommended for people who do not like the alcohol content.

11. Should alcohol be added to the treatment bottle?

A few drops of alcohol will help to preserve the water in the treatment bottle in hot summers. If the treatment bottle is preserved in a cool, dry place, like a refrigerator, there is no need for the alcohol.

12. Like the Homeopathic Medicines, can the Remedies bring about their negative states to appear, if they are taken for too long?

No, they can never produce their negative states.

13. When can you discontinue taking the Remedies?

There is no required course like antibiotics for taking the Essences, nor do you need to wean yourself off them, as they are not habit forming. When the symptoms disappear you will see no need for taking the Essences and may even forget to take them.

14. If one feels worse after taking the Remedies, should one continue?

The Essences cannot produce any harmful effects. However, flooding out of the negative emotions may bring temporary discomfort. There is no need to discontinue for that. We must allow the body's natural defenses to awaken and take charge.

15. Are there any combinations of medicines which should never be taken?

No, there are no such combinations.

16. Are there any other pre -mixed combinations, like the Rescue Remedy?

No, there are none advised by Dr Bach. The pre-mixed combinations in the market may not be as effective as assessment of each case individually. For example : -- insomnia may be caused by worrying thoughts moving round and round in the mind, or by fear of the dark, or by fear of the unknown, or by depressing thoughts, or by unbearable heartache, or by thoughts of the past, or by dreams for the future, or by a sudden feeling that one cannot manage things anymore etc. A pre-mixed combination may or may not work.

17. Are the Remedies affected by X- ray machines or bar-code readers or other rays?

No, the Essences are unaffected by any of these rays. But they should be protected from direct sunlight and heat as they may cause the water in the treatment bottle to go stale.

18. Is not quantity of Remedy taken from a glass of water more than that taken from a treatment bottle?

Yes, but the Essences are as effective as long as you take the minimum amount of the Essence required and this is covered in a treatment bottle. The amount of Essence taken from a glass is more, it may be convenient but is not more effective.

19. Are the Remedies safe for pregnant women?

Yes, the Essences are completely safe for pregnant women. They are completely safe for new born babies too.

20. How do the Remedies work?

Dr Bach gave up his lucrative practice of medicine in London, because he felt that the resources available to the world of medicine were insufficient for providing relief for the suffering of humanity.

He wanted to discover the cause of disease. His research took him to the world of Divine Consciousness.

He realized that all disease is caused by a conflict between the mind and soul, and that this conflict is caused by our inherent faults like fear, impatience, anger, doubt, attachment, delusions etc. which block the way to Divine realization, internal harmony and happiness.

Intuitively he was able to find the flowers in nature which could flood our natures with the frequencies required for harmony. When the mind becomes aware of the purpose of its soul, and finds the resources to fulfill it, there is internal emotional harmony. In this state, the natural defenses of the body become active, the inherent creativity finds its path and the body-mind -soul are coherent, at peace and healed.
